We always use the largest possible number of creatures that share a creature type when determining X; you don't choose a creature type.
The artifact enters the battlefield tapped and can't be tapped for mana the turn it enters unless another effect untaps it.
The activated ability is a tap ability (), so you must tap White Lotus Tile to add mana; it won't produce mana if it's already tapped.
The ability adds X mana of a single chosen color. You choose one color when the ability resolves (or when you activate it if required by replacement/choosing timing).
Creature types on cards are used as printed (e.g., Human, Soldier, Warrior, Ally). A single creature with multiple types counts toward each of its types for computing X.
Summing example from the ruling: controlling Human Soldier, Warrior Ally, Warrior, and Human Warrior means the greatest number sharing a type is 3 (Warrior), so X = 3 and the Tile adds three mana of one color.
