Jak działa karta?

Zamiast wejść normalnie, karta może nakryć inny artefakt, który kontrolujesz; jeśli nie może, zostaje wygnana. Karta nakrywająca zachowuje pozycję i stan nakrywanego artefaktu i ma pośpiech.

Karta ma zdolność Upgrade: zamiast wejść normalnie na pole bitwy, nakrywa (overlay) inny artefakt, który kontrolujesz. Jeśli nie da się wybrać takiego artefaktu, karta trafia do wygnania. Karta, która nakrywa inny artefakt, traktuje ten artefakt jako reprezentowany przez siebie — zachowuje stan (przekręcony, znaczniki, atakowanie itp.). Gdy ta karta się poruszy (np. zostanie wygnana, położona na bibliotece czy do cmentarza), karty pod nią poruszają się razem z nią. Ważne interakcje

Artefakt może być nakrywany (upgradowany) wielokrotnie — kilka kart może leżeć jedna na drugiej.
Jeśli przy stosowaniu efektu zastępczego Upgrade nie możesz wybrać artefaktu, karta nie wchodzi na pole bitewne i zamiast tego trafia do wygnania.
Gdy karta z Upgrade nakrywa inny artefakt, nie wywołuje to efektów „wchodzi na pole bitewne”.

Częste pomyłki

Mylenie nakrywania z „dołączaniem” — nakrywająca karta zastępuje reprezentowany artefakt, nie pozostaje z nim oddzielnie na polu bitwy.
Oczekiwanie, że wyzwalacze "wchodzi na pole bitewne" zadziałają przy nakrywaniu; nie zadziałają, ponieważ karta nie wchodzi na pole bitewne przy Upgrade.

Przykład

Gdy bijesz się z przeciwnikiem i chcesz, żeby Twój artefakt „stał się” tym stworem, zagrywasz Uzbrojony złom; jeśli wybierzesz artefakt, karta nakryje go i będzie działać jako reprezentacja tego artefaktu z pośpiechem.

An artifact can be upgraded more than once.

If you can’t choose an artifact you control while applying a permanent’s upgrade replacement effect, it doesn’t move to or enter the battlefield at all and instead moves to exile.

The card with upgrade moves to the battlefield, but it doesn’t enter the battlefield. Instead it overlays an artifact you control. That artifact becomes represented by the new card – if it was tapped, it’s still tapped; if it had counters on it, it still has those counters; if it was attacking, it’s still attacking; and so on.

If a player’s commander is upgraded, the resulting creature is still their commander. If it leaves the battlefield, the commander can be put into the command zone instead, and the other cards move to the expected zone.

If the upgraded object moves to the top or bottom of its owner’s library, that player chooses the relative order for its component cards without revealing that order.

Enters-the-battlefield triggers won’t trigger when an artifact with upgrade overlays another artifact.
